Our Easter Celebration

I am a little late in posting, but we did have a nice Easter. I loved seeing all the posts about your Easter weekend. Especially the kiddos all dressed up in their Easter best. So cute! We never did get around to dying eggs......I didn't really want to start at 8:30 Saturday night. So we skipped it and just had plastic eggs. At church the primary children got up and did a musical number. O-dog even went up, (stood still) and sang! We had our Easter Egg hunt after church and took a few photos, none of which turned out that great. Oh well!

Many family members gathered at Great Grandma and Grandpa's for more Easter fun and food.

My very favorite part of the Easter Celebration was our impromtu trip up to the Sacramento Temple grounds. It was so peaceful and beautiful. It was a great opportunity to talk about the Savior with the kids and feel the spirit there.

I love how Big D looks like he's explaining something really important to his little bro-dog. I was so impressed with him, as we walked the temple grounds he was reverent and respectful of everything. He has always been very sensitive and I know he could feel the spirit there. When we got home he wrote all about it in his journal.
Little moments like these help me know we're doing something right! Can you tell I am beaming?

What a good idea to visit the Temple on Easter! I think we get too wrapped up in all the family and fun and get distracted about the real meaning of the day. What a good way to remember it.
