I know, I failed to address the passing of Gordon B. Hinckley, our beloved prophet. I feel guilty about it, too. I have never been an eloquent writer/speaker and all the posts I have read have said it so beautifully already. I didn't know what to say that would do justice to the amazing life and accomplishments this man has had. In not doing so, I now feel like I am dishonoring him.
So, today I honor this sweet man and Prophet of God,
in my own way.
Thank you for bringing so many temples to the world,
especially Sacramento:
Thank you for showing the world who we are:
Thank you for sharing your talents:
My Redeemer Lives
Hymn # 135
I know that my Redeemer lives,
Triumphant Savior, Son of God
Victorious over Pain and death,
My King,my Leader, and my Lord
He lives, my one sure rock of Faith,
The one bright hope of men on earth,
The beacon to a better way,
The light beyond the veil of death.
Oh, give me thy sweet spirit still,
The peace that comes alone from thee,
The faith to walk the lonely road
That leads to thine eternity.
Thank you for your example of True Love.
I know you are with your dear companion, Marjorie, now:
Thank you for not acting your age, and making me smile on so many occasions:
Thank you for your sense of humor and reminding me to laugh once in a while:
Thank you for the new podium at the conference center.
I will think of you each conference time and I will read it's story to my children.
Thank you for the six B's. I stitched them and hung on it on my sons wall.
They are simple and to the point.
Thank you for your inspirational words and spiritual uplifting over the last 13 years.
You will be dearly missed. I honor you.
